Kara Jo Lehman

Kara is a yoga teacher, meditation instructor, clinical herbalist, beekeeper, and high school teacher. She’s been practicing yoga since 2000 and completed her yoga teacher training in 2019 at Yoga on Main, in Philadelphia with Shiva Das and Ed Zadlo. In 2016, she studied at Jefferson University Hospital’s Mindfulness Institute and teaches meditation to a wide variety of individuals including students, professionals, adolescents with special needs, and people in recovery. Her yoga classes are inspired by the wisdom of Nature and rooted in our innate ability to become grounded in the clarity of the present moment through movement and breath work.

In 2014, Kara started Kara Jo Skin Care & Bee Farm after seeking solutions to her own skin care needs. She was drawn to the healing power of honey, which created an opportunity for her and her husband, Greg, to begin beekeeping. Ten years later, they have expanded the skin care line into a wellness brand and are working to restore their woodland farm to its native roots.

For the past three years, she has been formally studying herbalism with David Winston and his team of teachers. Kara infuses her yoga classes with an intuitive approach to healing that integrates nature with the mind and body. She creates a holistic experience that nurtures both inner and outer wellness.

Kara enjoys hiking with her two Australian Cattle dogs, spending time trail-walking with her four goats, and tending her herbal gardens. For the past three years she has been co-hosting a beekeeping podcast with her husband called Mind Your Hives that revolves around their farm, beekeeping, and medicinal herbs.
