Claire Whittleston

An experienced registered Yoga Alliance Teacher (E-RYT500) and a Clinical Yoga Therapist, certified with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT). Claire has been teaching yoga since 2012 as a freelance adult and children's yoga and meditation teacher. She began practicing yoga in 1998 in Yorkshire, U.K. and has continued throughout her life experiences in Asia and the USA.

Claire’s practices are accessible and are designed to meet the needs of the individual, enhancing overall physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. She brings her extensive therapeutic training into all her classes while also incorporating breath, mantra and music.

Following yoga teacher training in New Jersey, Claire undertook further training in yoga for cancer, trauma and addiction. Moving to Michigan she spent 3.5 years studying at the Beaumont Hospital’s School of Yoga Therapy becoming a certified clinical yoga therapist. Claire undertook an extensive mentored training of clinical applications of yoga therapy working with physicians and patients as part of the integrative medicine department. Claire opened the first yoga therapy clinic in Michigan with a vision to bridge yoga and healthcare. Her focus was to empower patients to manage life limiting conditions, progressing toward improved health and wellbeing, through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga. In 2020, Claire returned to the U.K for a few years and in continuing her vision, she established The Yoga Therapy Clinic Yorkshire specializing in oncology and respiratory lung disease. She also enjoyed working with Active Against Cancer, a National Health Service (NHS) Foundation Trust charity run service, free to anyone with a diagnosis of cancer.

In 2016, Claire recorded and released a mantra music album ‘Dreams Can Come True,’ where she uses the power of voice to support mental health and wellbeing. As a faculty presenter with the International Institute of Yoga Therapy (IIYT), Claire enjoys presenting on Heart Health: The Healing Power of Meditation, Sound and Chanting.

Claire lives in Ambler PA with her husband Paul and two teenage daughters. She loves to travel, swim, sing, plays piano and harmonium and enjoys family walks with her Bernedoodle dog named Koda. She also enjoys volunteering with the Daughters of the British Empire (DBE) fundraising for local charities and senior living facilities across the United States.
